Dave McCandless is Vice President of IT for Navis, the global technology standard for managing the movement of cargo through container terminals. He has oversight for all areas of IT delivery, which includes early adoption of emerging technologies and innovation processes that further solidify Navis’ leadership in the cargo industry.  

Dave has great expectations that the combination of mobility and prescriptive analytics will redefine how good businesses become great companies. Dave is a startup junkie, having survived 6, including Oracle; he has also been a seasoned technology innovator for industry leaders Chevron, Bank of America, and AT&T Bell Labs. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science fromWashington State University, and an M.S. in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin, Madison. 

Dave has been an adjunct professor of Computer Science at UC Berkeley, and is a contributing author in the book CIO Body of Knowledge on the subject of Business Continuity Planning.Currently Dave is an advisory board member for the Fisher CIO Leadership Program, UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, a member of the Harold Frank Engineering Entrepreneurship Institute Advisory Board at Washington State University, and advisor to YagnaIQ.
